Pastor Ezekiel’s Survival Secrets Amid Frozen Bank Accounts: A Directive for Followers
Pastor Ezekiel Odera, on Tuesday, May 9, allayed fears that the New Life Church had ceased operations after the Milimani Magistrate Court authorized the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to freeze his 28 bank accounts.
During a church service in Mavueni, Kilifi County, the minister disclosed to the congregation that he had invested in agriculture whose profits would sustain him until the embargo on his bank accounts is lifted.
His agricultural investments included the raising of chickens, goats, and sheep, as well as the cultivation of various crops.
“We will not go to bed hungry because we planted corn and vegetables. We also raise goats, sheep, and chicken, said Ezekiel.
The televangelist also applauded DCI’s decision to investigate the source of his funds, stating that the investigation would clear his church’s name.
Therefore, he instructed his followers to continue sending donations to the same frozen bank and mobile money accounts.
He urged his followers to give more so that the government could account for every dollar in his accounts.

“Listen, I am unable to withdraw the money. However, the government should investigate to determine the origin of the funds. But you, as believers, continue to give your offerings to the same individuals until their numbers are frozen.
“When you continue to donate, they will recognize the origin of the funds. I also transferred Ksh300,000 to these frozen accounts in the morning,” he added.
The pastor, however, vowed to use the funds collected from his other projects to continue his Mavueni Church’s various construction projects.
The televangelist characterized the ongoing investigation as a test of his faith and insisted he was prepared to account for everything.
On suspicion of money laundering, his accounts were frozen for 30 days. DCI also sought orders to freeze them to prove the allegations.
Danstan Omar and Cliff Ombeta, both attorneys, denied the allegations. They criticized the DCI for moving the case to Nairobi, even though the Shanzi Law Courts had the authority to hear it.
“All of these accounts are located in Mombasa; he has no accounts in Nairobi. We cannot comprehend why they chose to move to the Milimani magistrates court when the accounts are located in Mombasa, lamented Danstan.
Moreover, they revealed that the televangelist struggled to pay legal fees after his accounts were frozen.
