Oscar Sudi Slams Morara Kebaso Over Criticism of Kasmuel
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has criticized activist and civic educator Morara Kebaso, accusing him of misleading the younger generation with self-serving motives.ย ย
Sudi, in a social media post, dismissed Morara’s condemnation of fellow activist Kasmuel M’Coure’s meeting with President William Ruto, alleging that Morara had been exploiting Kenyans for financial gain under the guise of activism.
“Morara Kebaso, stop manipulating our Gen Z youth for your selfish interests. Instead of offering constructive criticism, you’re sowing panic and unrest. We know you’ve been exploiting Kenyans’ hard-earned money in the name of activism,” Sudi posted. He went on to label Morara as a “fake activist” and accused him of being a puppet in a divisive agenda.
On December 22, photos of Kasmuel alongside Sudi and President Ruto in Uasin Gishu emerged online, sparking outrage among Kenyans who accused Kasmuel of betraying their trust. Morara Kebaso joined the criticism, posting: “Kasmuel, why? Arenโt these the same people responsible for the suffering of Gen Zs? Is this about money? You should have started a business instead.”

He further expressed disappointment, stating that Kasmuel had deeply hurt the Kenyans who had placed their faith in him.
Despite Sudi’s remarks, Morara fired back, asserting that he had refused to be “bought” by the President. He claimed his activism was funded by supporters who believed in his cause and accused Sudi of misusing public resources, suggesting the MP lacked a legitimate income source.
Both Kasmuel and Morara began their journeys as emerging activists but faced growing criticism from their peers, who labeled them opportunists. Morara’s critics often highlighted his frequent calls for financial support to fund his civic education initiatives, while Kasmuel faced backlash after aligning with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Kasmuel’s rise to prominence during anti-finance bill protests evolved into anti-government demonstrations. However, his decision to join Raila Odingaโs ODM faction, which had gained influence in Rutoโs government, left many feeling betrayed.
