ODM’s Nuru Okanga Clarifies Getting 401 Marks in 2023 KCPE
Self-proclaimed Azimio la Umoja ardent supporter Nuru Okanga has distanced himself from the screenshot circulating on social media that falsely claimed he earned 401 points on the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), the results of which were released on Thursday.
The eminent political enthusiast stated in an exclusive interview with PoliticalPulseChat on Thursday that he had not yet received the results of his national examinations.
Additionally, he disclosed that the index number 37610677055 that was being utilized for rounds was not his. His numerical sequence commences with 379********.
“That index number does not belong to me,” he told Politicalpulse chat’s Senior Editor.
“I am still trying to get my results because Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is yet to release the statement.”
The results verification system encountered disruptions at midday on Thursday, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu’s announcement of the results, as he had predicted.
Parents are typically required to transmit their children’s index numbers to 40054 for a fee of Ksh25 per text message.

However, parents were dismayed that despite the postponement of the results, the service charges had already been deducted.
Numerous messages that propelled Nuru Okanga to the forefront of social media trends speculated that he earned a grade ranging from 401 to 405, which would have positioned him among the top 20 pupils in the nation.
Additionally, the forged results claimed that the applicant had earned 84 points in mathematics, 80 points in English, and 80 points in Kiswahili.
Additionally, the results revealed that Okanga, who attended Mumias Muslim Primary School and participated in the national examinations, earned 75 points in science and 82 points in Christian Religious Education.
According to the results announced by Machogu, the highest-scoring candidate achieved 428 out of a possible 500 points.
A total of 8,525 candidates achieved a score of 400 or higher, while 352,782 students obtained scores ranging from 300 to 399.
