Normalcy in Kisumu as Residents say no to Protest: “Tumefurahi Tuko Ndani ya Serikali”(Video)
Business continues as usual in Kisumu County despite the expected Nane Nane protests.
A recent check by Gossipa2z.com showed the town bustling with normal activities, with shops, supermarkets, banks, and other businesses operating without disruption.
Pedestrian traffic was slightly reduced, but businesses that remained open continued their operations smoothly.

There was an absence of police roadblocks and visible police presence on the streets, unlike the typical setup of officers patrolling or establishing roadblocks near Kisumu Boys Roundabout, Patel Flats, and Kondele during planned protests.
Residents told Gossipa2z.com that no demonstrations against the government were planned for the Lakeside city.
They mentioned that the new, inclusive government is what the country needs and any protests could hinder progress in tackling national challenges.
Mark Oluoch commented that the voices of the youth have been acknowledged, as shown by recent changes made by President William Ruto.

“Protests now could undermine these changes. Let’s give the newly appointed Cabinet Secretaries a chance to do their jobs and wait for improvements,” Oluoch said.
Local boda boda rider Julius Ligeve shared that Kisumu has been peaceful, which is beneficial for business.
He explained that during protests, boda boda riders often face problems because they are mistaken for protestors by the police.
“Police often view us as part of the protests simply because we’re on motorbikes, which creates difficulties for us,” he said.
Hawker Jane Onyango added that there is no current reason to protest.
“Let’s give the President and his new team the time they need to address our concerns,” she said.
