A concerned resident from the crime-prone Weithethie estate has shared chilling CCTV footage of a notorious criminal who has been terrorizing the area with a series of car break-ins at night. The footage, now viral, reveals a suspect who specifically targets radios and audio systems in parked vehicles.

The video, shared with renowned blogger Cyprian Nyakundi, shows the suspect’s intricate method of breaking into cars. According to the resident, who posted the footage, the criminal is known for targeting stray cars or those parked in apartment complexes.

The suspect’s modus operandi begins with tampering with the biometric system of the gate. When that fails, he uses a pole to scale the wall and enter the premises undetected.

Once inside, the thief takes extreme caution, removing his shoes to avoid making noise as he systematically breaks into every vehicle he finds. Fortunately, the car owner caught a glimpse of the criminal on the CCTV footage, preventing further damage to the parked cars.

“This individual has been a menace in our area for the last two years. It’s impossible to park your car without fearing it might be the next target,” the concerned resident wrote. Despite numerous attempts to catch the criminal, he has managed to evade arrest, leaving residents feeling unsafe and frustrated.
