Nakuru Couple Found Living With Kin’s Decomposing Body For 3 Weeks Expecting Resurrection

Investigators in Nakuru are questioning a pair who resided in their residence alongside the decaying remains of their sister for a duration of three weeks.

Relatives informed the authorities that Rosemary Wahu was last sighted on January 29 this year before her phone ceased to function, and her decaying remains were found on Wednesday morning inside her brother’s residence.

In Nakuru East, occupants of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) were startled to learn that a 60-year-old woman’s body, in an advanced state of decomposition, had been discovered in her brother’s residence after being there for three weeks.

David Kinyanjui, along with his wife and their two-year-old daughter, resided in the same residence without disclosing any information regarding Rosemary’s demise. However, their silence was broken when family members arrived at the house on Wednesday, demanding explanations about her whereabouts.

“Tulipiga simu hapa nje tukakaa hadi 40 minutes, tukaingia bibi akasema tuombe tukaomba ndio akasema twende tuone mwili wa mama yetu,” said a family member Gachoka Kanyone.

The deceased’s son Boniface Mwania added: “Auntie akaomba akaomba akasema kuna mwili imekufa hapa itafufuka…tukashangaa heeeeh.”

The arrival of the family members verified their deepest concerns that their mother, Wahu, had passed away. Her deteriorating remains were found in one of the bedrooms.

The foul odor wafting from the residence left the locals deeply unsettled due to the strange occurrence.

“Mwili wake tuliupata ukiwa umedecompose…kichwa ilikuwa skeleton……mwenye alitoa hiyo kitambaa tuliona mwili nikauliza uncle yaani anaweza ishi hapa na mtoto wake wakikula saa hiyo mwili uko hapo? Akasema usijali atafufuka,” explained Mwania.

Kinyanjui and his spouse were saved from a furious crowd by law enforcement officers who swiftly took them to safety.

The pair is currently being questioned by detectives from the Nakuru East division of the Criminal Investigations Directorate.

“We have launched investigations for now we are interrogating the two persons,” said Nakuru East Sub County Police Commander Mohammed Wako.

The family is searching for explanations regarding why the couple resided with the decaying corpse. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
