Murkomen Sparks Outrage: ‘No Kenyan Killed by Police,’ He Claims
Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has angered many with his remarks about police killings.
Why did Murkomen upset Kenyans?
While speaking at a public event, Murkomen stated that the government is committed to protecting its citizens.
โItโs our responsibility to keep the country and its people safe,โ he said.
He then defended President William Rutoโs administration against claims that it uses security forces to silence its critics.
โSince Ruto took office, no citizen has been killed by the police. Thereโs no policy of killing people like in the previous government. No one has been killed under the guise of seeking justice,โ Murkomen added.
He also urged Kenyans to praise the president rather than criticize him.
โInstead of celebrating his progress, we blame him for things that arenโt his fault. People should report their missing loved ones, and the ministry will work with the police to help find them,โ he said.

โSomeone should switch off his microphone already because what is this?โ

โWhat an insult to the families mourning their kids. Some have never been found. So we didn’t see bodies in Kware? We didn’t see people shot live on TV?โ
