More Questions Emerge On the Mysterious Death Of Grade 8 Pupil At Joy Gardens Primary

The family of Wesley Njiru, the Grade 8 pupil who tragically passed away under unclear circumstances at Joy Gardens Primary School in Umoja, Nairobi on Saturday last week, have raised concerns about the reported details surrounding their son’s death.

In a statement seen by Gossipa2z.com, Stella Wanjiru; the boy’s mother, sought clarification on the exact time the incident occurred, highlighting that the school has been hesitant to provide this crucial detail.

“Why was I called at 8.30 p.m. to take the child to the hospital instead of the school taking him to the hospital? We want to know the exact time the incident happened as the school has been evasive on the exact time,” she posed.

“Why did they call at 8.30 p.m. when they knew the boy had passed away, and when I arrived at school, they Ignored me until 11.00 p.m.?”

In addition, the family disputes the school’s account of the deceased falling from the 7th-floor rooftop of the school and landing on the balcony noting that they conducted their investigation at the alleged scene and determined that it was not feasible for the boy to have fallen from that spot based on the injuries described in his postmortem report.

“Further, the pathologist report details injuries that are inconsistent with the height the child Is alleged to have fallen from,” Wanjiru said.

The family likewise raised concerns about one Anthony Kimani Mwangi, who allegedly interrogated the deceased before his demise despite not being employed at the school, seeking answers regarding the nature, time, and location of the interrogation, as well as whether sexual molestation was involved, as suggested by the pathologist’s report.

Moreover, the family wants to know who authorized the interrogation and why Mwangi fled the scene after the boy’s death.

They also questioned why the school did not promptly take the deceased to hospital after the incident, and who among the school staff pronounced the boy dead, considering the police were informed of his death even before their arrival.

“Why did the school keep me walling for over 4 hours, without disclosing the death of my son?” Wanjiru posed.
