Morara Kebaso vs. Kasmuel McOure: TV Showdown Turns Fiery

Political activists Morara Kebaso and Kasmuel McOure, both known for their outspoken criticism of the Kenya Kwanza administration, recently appeared together on national television to discuss the country’s political environment.

The two have been vocal in their views, often taking firm stances against the government, but their conversation took a sharp turn when they began to clash over political ideologies.

The debate grew tense after Morara expressed frustration with McOure’s shift in allegiance, particularly his recent support for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Morara took issue with what he saw as a betrayal of the youth, especially Generation Z, accusing Raila Odinga of collaborating with President William Ruto in forming a broad-based government.

He argued that Railaโ€™s decision was driven more by personal interests than the welfare of Kenyans, particularly the youth who had been involved in protests. “Raila is using the sacrifices of Gen Z for his gain,” Morara said, referring to the deaths of youth during protests as a tragic tool for his political advantage.

McOure, however, defended his position, asserting that while his decision to join the ODM party may not have been universally accepted, he chose the party that he believed would best support his personal and political goals.

He also took the opportunity to criticize Morara’s leadership of the Inject Party, which was born out of the very protests that had spurred Gen Z activism.

McOure questioned the partyโ€™s cohesion, pointing out that members had left due to internal disagreements and a lack of clear direction. “A party without a solid ideology, where key members are openly criticizing the leader, cannot be effective,” McOure remarked.

He continued by suggesting that Moraraโ€™s approach to politics was self-serving, adding, “People like Morara think their position gives them special influence, but in reality, they are far from pragmatic leadership.”

The conversation revealed deep ideological rifts between the two, highlighting the personal and political challenges that often emerge in Kenya’s complex political landscape.
