Morara Kebaso Rallies Kenyans to Fundraise Over Ksh1M

Activist Morara Kebaso is urging Kenyans to contribute financially to support his efforts in broadening Civic Education on effective governance within the country.

Kebaso gained prominence through his extensive efforts to highlight President William Ruto’s purported unfinished projects, which drew significant public interest.

In his latest initiative to advance his activism, Kebaso has appealed for donations to acquire and install a PA system, with an estimated cost between Ksh840,000 and Ksh1.2 million.

The presidential PA system is priced at Ksh1.278 million, while the Middle Sound system is set at Ksh838,200. Kebaso states that the PA system will be dedicated solely to civic education and good governance campaigns.

Dear My Sponsors the People of Kenya
We can do a presidential Sound at 1.2M or a Middle Sound at 838,200. Kindly review the quoted prices and verify if they are within market rate. For the sound system i have already raised 325,000 on Mpesa Number 0708985611. I hope more Kenyansโ€ฆ pic.twitter.com/B12kyoUyxB

As part of his upcoming plans, Kebaso aims to engage his audience in discussions about strategies to rejuvenate Kenya.

His appeal has been well-received, with many Kenyans expressing their willingness to support him in the comments section.

โ€œWe fully back this initiative. They wonโ€™t believe it,โ€ remarked one commenter. Another added, โ€œThe message needs to spread; Iโ€™m sending mine in support.โ€

Some even suggested sponsoring Kebaso as a potential candidate to run against President William Ruto in the 2027 elections.

The young entrepreneur, who operates Morara Home Furniture and employs over 85 people, devised a strategy to impersonate President Ruto, mimicking his speech and demeanor, and even replicating some of Rutoโ€™s signature styles, such as Kaunda suits and sunroofed Prados.

Kebasoโ€™s impersonations have, however, brought to light several stalled projects and those that have been launched multiple times.

Recently, Kebaso had a contentious exchange with State House Spokesman Hussain Mohammed, who denied Kebaso’s claims of receiving a call from President Ruto. Kebaso alleged that the President’s team initially contacted him, followed by a personal call offering him a high-profile job.

The State House Spokesman expressed surprise at Kebasoโ€™s statements, questioning why Kebaso would fabricate such claims on national television.

Kebaso, who calls himself the “Chief Registrar of Broken Promises,” has vowed to persist in his critique of Kenya’s governance until the narrative surrounding the countryโ€™s leadership is transformed.
