– 6:21 PM: Monicah calls her brother to inform him of her arrival in Nairobi from Juba at the time she was at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
– 7:30 PM: A taxi drops her off at Lamuria Gardens apartments.
– 8:00 PM: Monica collects a delivery from the apartment gate.
– 8:45 PM: A man wearing a kanzu and cap whom the court documents identify as Jowie arrives at the apartment and heads straight to the kitchen.
– 9:20 PM: Monica is seen by a friend in the Lamuria Gardens parking lot.
– 11:00 PM: A strange text is sent from Monica’s phone to her friend, saying, “Come help me sleep.”
September 20, 2018
– 11:00 AM: Monica’s brother, George Kimani, visits her apartment but receives no response to his attempts to reach her via phone.
– 12:00 PM: George decides to break into Monica’s apartment, where he discovers her lifeless body.
– 3:00 PM: Police transport Monica’s body to Chiromo mortuary.
Throughout the trial, Jowie and former news anchor Jacque Maribe, who have been on trial since 2018, faced scrutiny as the prosecution called upon 35 witnesses to present evidence.
