Miss Trudy Faces Backlash Following Airport Fiasco
Miss Trudy, a Kenyan content creator, infuriated Twitter users after posting a short video of what appears to be a chaotic altercation with security personnel at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Trudy, who is well-known for her travel and lifestyle content, claimed that when she and her crew attempted to film content at the airport, security personnel swarmed them and arrested them all.
“We were arrested at the airport for filming! This is becoming unmanageable! We have the right to produce content without fear! “Full video available on my YouTube channel!” she tweeted.
According to Trudy, content creators “have a right to create content without intimidation,” and being manhandled and arrested while filming is an “out of control” situation.
Trudy attached a short video of a tense interaction with security while she was pacing while tweeting.
A female police officer is observed attempting to maintain order and cool tempers.
“Guys, we’re being harassed at the airport, and they want to arrest us because we’re filming,” Trudy exclaims indignantly. “No, this is out of control; this is excessive. They called the police to arrest me for creating content.”
“We are in Kenya!” I’m simply producing content. I’m leaving Mombasa and returning to Nairobi when someone harasses me at the entrance and tells me to stop creating content! I’m just tired!” In the now-viral clip, Trudy continues to rant.

However, the majority (if not all) of her Twitter followers have found her ramblings to be annoying. Many have criticized her for her ‘rudeness’ and ‘entitlement’ and reminded her that the vast majority of airports around the world are film-free zones.
Distinguished media personality Saddique Shaban was among those who criticized Trudy for her audacity, labeling her actions as “ignorant.”
“This is what is wrong with ignorant and uneducated “content creators” from Generation Z.” Armed with a rudimentary knowledge of ethics, law, and common sense, they believe that owning recording devices grants them unfettered access to all spaces, situations, and people’s privacy,” he tweeted.
This child needs assistance. She is completely ignorant and uneducated. At the very least, this is an annoyance, criminal trespass, and invasion of privacy and personal space. The majority of these uncultured idiots engaged in “content creation” are obnoxious idiots on cheap voyeuristic excursions.
Another Twitter user @Mutuabrian said,” Hatukatai hii ni Kenya but consent ni kitu mzuri sana. Whenever you conduct a filming session, you should always write to the authorities for permission. The kuna formalities will follow the bana.”
Early in March, the controversial travel vlogger was at the center of yet another controversy when she expressed surprise that Uganda had a national park containing a variety of wildlife.

Her video was met with a barrage of scathing criticism from irate Ugandans who believed she had not conducted sufficient research before visiting their country.
She then took to Instagram to defend herself while feigning tears and asserting that she had the right to “speak her truth.”
“I don’t comprehend why people are attacking me, and it’s not at all cool. Knowing that I am a guest, you should be showing me, love. I’ve never really hated anyone. I am simply telling the truth. Am I not permitted to speak my mind?” Miss Trudy answered.
