Mathare Father Arrested for Suffocating 3-Weeks-Old Baby to Death
A 35-year-old male was taken into custody in the Mathare region of Kajiado North for the murder of his three-week-old infant.
The man was apprehended by Ngong Police Station officers following a report from his wife, who provided a detailed account of the events leading to the distressing incident.
As per the wife of the suspect, the individual allegedly blocked both the infant’s mouth and nose, restricting airflow for a brief period, resulting in the baby’s demise.
While the mother was busy cooking in the kitchen, she entered the room to find her husband engaged in a dreadful deed, yet she was unable to intervene.
The woman additionally disclosed that over the past few days, they had experienced conflicts, and she suggested that these disagreements could have influenced the man’s behavior.
Neighbors, who verified the family’s circumstances, mentioned that the couple had been engaging in intermittent arguments for an extended period. Nevertheless, they were astonished by the unexpected twist of events.

The infant’s remains were taken to a nearby mortuary, where they will await an autopsy report to assist the authorities in conducting additional investigations.
On Monday, a disturbing event unfolded in the Munyaka area of Nyandarua County, as the local community was startled when a man took the lives of his estranged wife and child, both residing near a police station.
As per the information provided, the husband and wife were residing apart. The husband located the mother and child at their current whereabouts and tragically murdered them both.
The neighbors mentioned multiple conflicts between the couple, resulting in the woman leaving her marital residence and residing on her own.
The man later killed himself.
