Mama Mboga Surprises Congregants After Taking Son’s Ksh 6M Cash to Pastor Ezekiel’s Church
A vegetable vendor from Burma Market in Nairobi surprised members of New Life Church in Mombasa by handing Pastor Ezekiel Odero a sack containing Ksh6 million in cash.
On February 3, 2024, in a live service, the troubled businesswoman requested the pastor’s help to invoke blessings and prayers upon a sum of money. This incident was captured on video and has since gained widespread circulation.
She claimed that the sum of money was owned by her son, RO, who supposedly hid the funds in the form of dollar bills within his vehicle.
The woman became worried when her son invited friends he referred to as detectives from the ‘Criminal Investigation Department (CID)’ to their home along Jogoo Road. Her son insisted that these detectives were his longtime companions.
The officers later discovered a sum of Ksh10 million in total. Afterward, they transported the individual’s son to a nearby bank, where they converted the money from dollars to Kenyan currency.
As per the woman’s account, the officers asserted ownership of a portion of Ksh4 million and transported the son to his residence with an amount exceeding Ksh6 million.
The detectives then directed the vegetable vendor to get into the vehicle before providing the 6 million Kenyan Shillings in six separate stacks.
After a short while, they left her at Burma Market before vanishing with her son.

I don’t know whether to cry or to laugh because I am so confused,” she stated while questioning the source of the funds as her son works as a taxi driver.
The vegetable vendor expressed confusion about whether the sum of money was a reward or the result of criminal activities. She asked the pastor to pray over and cleanse the money.
In addressing her request, Pastor Ezekiel assured the woman that he would ensure her safety until she reunited with her son.
“I will give you a place to stay until we know the truth. You will be accompanied by my security to record a statement.
“When the police want to know more details, we will comply so that the money can get back to its rightful owner,” Pastor Ezekiel added.
The name of the Criminal Investigation Department was changed to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, and its current location is situated along Kiambu Road.
