    List of Areas Scheduled for Power Blackout on Sunday

    List of Areas Scheduled for Power Blackout on Sunday

    Kenya Power has issued a notice informing Kenyans of the scheduled power blackout in select parts of the country on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

    In a notice on its website, the utility firm said that the temporary power outage is part of routine maintenance.

    “Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as here under: (It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power lines during construction, etc.),” Kenya Power said.

    The utility firm noted that the Sunday power interruption will affect at least two counties – Nairobi and Kilifi.

    Parts of Nairobi will experience a power blackout from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. The affected areas include Ngumba, Thome, and Roysambu.

    Others are; KBL, Baptist Mission, Indigo Garments, Ngumba, GSU HQtrs, Drive-Inn Est, ICIPE HQtrs, KENHA, Whole of Kasarani, Clay City Est, Warren, Central Glass, Sietco, Githurai Stage 44, Zimmerman Est, Mirema Drive, Wankan Academy, Whole of Githurai 45, Whole of Githurai Kimbo, Lumumba Drive, Roysambu, Safari Park Hotel, Mountain View Roysambu, USIU, Ruaraka Printing Press, Thika Rd Baptist Church, Ruaraka Housing Est, NIM Ltd, Andela Kenya Ltd, Thome, Mirema Rd, Whole of Zimmerman, Kahawa Barracks, TRM and adjacent customers.

    Kenya Power further noted that parts of Mombasa Road will also be affected by the scheduled interruption including KTN Offices on Mombasa Rd, CBA Mutuya Properties, Tulip House, and adjacent customers

    In Kilifi County, a power blackout will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

    Affected areas include; Pinglikani, Mbogholo, Makata, Pinglikani, Ndindiri, and adjacent customers.
