Kitale’s Rogue Cop Nabbed: Hauls Ksh.3,100 in Just 2 Hours!
Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have apprehended a police officer infamous for soliciting bribes along the Kitale-Kapenguria road in Trans Nzoia County.
The law enforcement officials, operating out of the North Rift regional office, successfully conducted a sting operation leading to the arrest of the officer near the Kenya Seed Company area on Thursday.
The accused law enforcement officer, who has gained notoriety for his corrupt practices, was captured engaging in the act on numerous occasions, with photographic evidence supporting the allegations.
This flagrant behavior has sparked numerous complaints from residents in the area, prompting the EACC to take decisive action.
During the sting operation, the officer was found in possession of Ksh.3,100, comprising denominations of Ksh.100 and Ksh.50 notes.

The money was allegedly collected within a two-hour timeframe, spanning from 8 am to 10 am on the day of his arrest.
This discovery serves as concrete evidence of the officer’s involvement in illicit financial activities.
In the wake of this arrest, the anti-graft agency is intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend other police officers in the region who managed to evade the sting operation.
These individuals are believed to pose a similar threat to motorists traveling along the route, contributing to an atmosphere of corruption and bribery within the local law enforcement community.
The ongoing pursuit of these rogue officers reflects the EACC’s commitment to eradicating corruption and fostering a sense of accountability within the police force.
