Kisumu Night Raid: Two Guards Killed, Shops Vandalized

On Saturday night, unidentified criminals raided several electronic shops located behind Telkom Plaza in the Kisumu CBD, resulting in the deaths of two security guards.

According to Kisumu Central Sub-County Deputy police commander Jackton Mango, the guards were killed by blunt force trauma to their heads.

The criminals then proceeded to break into three electronic shops, taking goods of unknown value.

Mango suggested that the guards were likely asleep when they were attacked, as they were found sitting in their chairs.

The bodies of the guards have been taken to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching & Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) mortuary.

Mango also reassured residents of the area that security patrols would be increased to prevent future incidents and to ensure that people can conduct their businesses in peace.

The police have processed the area. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has taken over the case to conduct further investigations.

The DCI will likely explore all possible leads to determine the identities of the criminals. They will also assess the value of the stolen goods.

The incident highlights the need for adequate security measures in business areas. Authorities must take the necessary steps to ensure that business owners and their employees feel safe while conducting their activities.
