Kisumu Man Uncovers Mum’s Secret Affair with Young Friend via WhatsApp Chats
A 22-year-old man from Ahero, Kisumu County, is deeply troubled after discovering a disturbing WhatsApp conversation between his mother and a close friend.
The young man, identified as Zebedia Okach (a pseudonym), turned to Facebook seeking advice on whether he should confront the friend about the situation that upset him.
Raised by a single mother, Okach shared that he is the eldest of two siblings. He completed high school in 2019 and immediately began working as a salesperson for a company operating in Ahero and Kisumu town.
“Please advise me; I am so stressed. I am 22 years old, the firstborn in my family, and I finished high school in 2019 at Onjiko High School. My mother is a single parent, and I have a younger sister currently in junior secondary school,” he shared.
Through his job, Okach met a 24-year-old colleague named Meshak (another pseudonym), who became his close friend. Being more experienced, Meshak helped Okach adapt to the role, and the two bonded over their shared hometown.
“At work, I befriended a guy from Ahero who was two years older than me and very skilled in the job. We quickly became close as we were on the same team,” Okach explained.
Their friendship deepened, partly due to their shared roots in Ahero. Over time, Meshak began visiting Okach’s home and his mother’s shop, becoming a trusted family friend.

However, things took a shocking turn last month when Okach used his mother’s phone and came across her WhatsApp chats with Meshak. He noticed that his mother had saved Meshak’s number under a peculiar name, prompting him to read their messages. To his dismay, the conversation contained inappropriate content.
“Last month, while using my mother’s phone, I found her chats with my friend. She had saved his number strangely, so I got curious. The things they were discussing are so bad I can’t even tell you,” he revealed.
The young man suspects that his mother and Meshak may have had a sexual relationship based on the content of their messages. He further expressed concern that his mother might be pregnant.
“The way they talk suggests they’ve been intimate, and my mother told him to prepare to become a father soon,” he added.
Conflicted and overwhelmed with emotions, Okach asked for guidance on whether it would be wrong to confront Meshak. He admitted that the situation has left him heartbroken, unable to focus, and feeling resentment toward his mother.
“What should I do? Is it wrong to confront him? This hurts so much that I can’t concentrate, and it’s making me hate my mother,” he lamented.
