Kipruto Arap Kirwa Criticizes President Ruto’s Plan for X-Space Meeting with Gen Z, Says is Ill Advised
Former Agriculture Minister Kipruto Arap Kirwa criticized President William Ruto’s decision to host an X-Space meeting with Gen Zs, calling it a poor decision.
On Friday, Kirwa expressed that the engagement was a significant error.
He emphasized that the President should avoid being involved in every issue the country faces.
Kirwa asserted that the Head of State needs to understand he cannot resolve every problem in Kenya.
“My advice to the President is to stop trying to be at the forefront of every issue. He cannot address all of Kenya’s problems. The meeting with Gen Z is a big mistake,” he remarked.
The former minister suggested that the president should find a way to integrate youths into government roles.
Kirwa stated that after achieving this, the President should only intervene when state organs request his presence.
“What he should do is ensure that various government bodies engage with young people, and he should step in only when necessary,” he suggested.

Kirwa’s comments come just before President William Ruto’s planned discussions with the youth.
On Friday, Ruto will host his first X-Space Conversation with the youth.
The Cabinet will join the Head of State during the Space.
“All Kenyans are invited to participate in this dialogue as part of our collective effort to foster national renewal and create a better Kenya for everyone,” stated a release from the Cabinet Office, Executive Office of the President.
According to a statement by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed, the President will address issues raised by the youths.
The X-Space is scheduled to take place from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Previously, Ruto invited Gen Z leaders to a meeting at State House, but they declined.
