Omid Scobie, the couple’s biographer, said Archie’s birthday “played a factor” in Meghan’s staying in California.

Meghan will celebrate her son Archie’s fourth birthday at home while Prince Harry attends the Coronation.

Omid Scobie, the couple’s biographer, said Archie’s birthday “played a factor” in Meghan staying in California and that Harry will make a “fairly quick trip to the UK.”

One royal source familiar with Coronation plans said Harry’s attendance would “likely delight” the King.

“The King loves both his sons,” the insider said.

Harry regretted missing the ceremony.

“Archie’s birthday has given Meghan the perfect excuse to stay behind and, all things considered, it’s probably the right thing to do.”

Harry RSVPed yesterday, nine days after the April 4 deadline.

Harry and Meghan’s charitable foundation, Archewell, and Buckingham Palace made similar announcements.

Meghan, who has accused a royal of racism, will stay in Montecito with Archie and his one-year-old sister Lilibet.

Harry will meet Charles, Camilla, William, and Kate at the Coronation for the first time since he criticized them in his memoir, Spare, published in January.

Since the King gave Harry a reprieve until after the Coronation, a royal source said it was “fully expected” that he would stay at Frogmore Cottage, which he and Meghan were ordered to vacate earlier this year.

Despite Harry’s legal action against the Home Office over the decision to strip him of taxpayer-funded protection in the UK, the source said royal protection officers would ensure his safety at a State occasion with the Royal Family. Harry’s Westminster Abbey seat was up for debate last night.

Harry and Meghan sat behind Charles and Camilla, next to Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, at the Queen’s funeral.

Disgraced Prince Andrew and his siblings, the King, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward, sat front row, and Charles will follow “protocol” again.

Harry, Meghan, and Andrew are no longer working royals, but the “hierarchy” will return, giving Harry a more prominent role as the King’s son.

Harry will not join the King and other “working royals” on the Buckingham Palace balcony after the ceremony, the Mirror reported.

Royal sources last night doubted Meghan would return to Britain soon.

“The King has previously extended an invitation to Harry and Meghan to stay with him at Highgrove or Balmoral, but all instances have been refused,” a Palace insider said.
