Kimani Ichung’wah Drags Uhuru Kenyatta Into NADCO Report Disagreements
Kimani Inchung’wah, the Majority leader of the National Assembly, has attributed the disputes during the presentation of the final NADCO report to former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
On Tuesday, March 13, Ichung’wah alleged that Uhuru had exerted influence on Eugene Wamalwa, the leader of the DAP-Kenya party, to prevent him from endorsing the conclusive report.
“He was there during the meetings, he agreed on everything and never raised issues until Uhuru told him otherwise,” Ichung’wah stated.
The Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) additionally alleged that the ex-president was deliberately causing turmoil and discord in the nation, challenging Wamalwa to convey a message to him.
“We know it was not your independent decision, someone sent you, and whoever sent you give him our response,” he stated
“Tell him the NADCO implementation will proceed with or without your signature. With or without the liking of Uhuru Kenyatta, Kenya will be a peaceful nation.”

Wamalwa declined to sign the final NADCO report, expressing disagreement with certain aspects of its contents.
On March 7, the leader of the DAP-Kenya Party declined to provide his banking information for the committee allowances transfer, citing disagreements with the rest of his team regarding the conclusive report.
“As you are aware, I had already publicly declined to sign the said report after a serious disagreement arose over the failure to address the fundamental issue of reduction of the cost of living. I also declined to accept any payments from the said process,” Wamalwa noted in a letter to the Parliament clerks.
As per Wamalwa, the committee did not effectively tackle the examination of the 2022 electoral procedures, the reorganization of the IEBC, and the pressing issue of the escalating cost of living impacting Kenyan citizens.
“At the same time, I thank my coalition leader and Parliament for the opportunity to serve in this important capacity as a member of the NADCO committee,” he added.
On March 8, the committee, headed by Ichung’wah and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, formally presented the conclusive report to President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
