Kiambu Politician’s Multimillion Macadamia Factory Set for Auction
Auctioneers have announced the impending sale of a macadamia factory owned by Kimani Wainaina, a prominent figure in Kiambu politics, commonly known as Jungle.
The factory, as per a notice published in newspapers, is situated in Makongeni, Thika Town, within Kiambu County.
The company managing the auction disclosed that the property spans 2.5 acres and comprises three developed blocks featuring terraced double-span warehouses. Alongside these structures are additional amenities such as a sentry, control rooms, and a shared canopy shed.
The notice further detailed the property’s enhancements, which include a prefabricated shipping container office, prefabricated steel mesh sheds, enclosures, and a paved parking/loading zone/circulatory system.

Among the plant machinery up for auction alongside the property are a nut pasteurization line, a macadamia nut pasteurizer, and a nut packing line equipped with commercial nut cracking machines. Additionally, a manual stacker, heli forklift truck, deep chamber vacuum packing machines, electronic platform scale, and caterpillar forklift are also included.
Prospective bidders were informed that the successful bidder would also acquire ownership of equipment such as hopper chuff removers, color sorters, an honest compressor, and nut conveyors.
Interested buyers were notified of the requirement to furnish a bidding deposit of Ksh10 million either in cash or through a banker’s cheque before being eligible to bid.
The factory, belonging to the politician, holds a leasehold interest for a term of 99 years. Furthermore, it was disclosed that as of September 1, 2023, the property had accumulated land rates amounting to Ksh117,458.
Wainaina, who previously served as a Member of Parliament for Thika Town, later contested for the Kiambu gubernatorial position in 2022, losing to Kimani Wamatangi.
