Kenyan Memes Take Over the World as Snoop Dogg Shares Gachagua Clip
Kenyan memes continue to make waves globally as legendary American rapper Snoop Dogg once again shared a popular Kenyan meme on Instagram, sparking massive reactions from Kenyans online.
Snoop Dogg Shares Viral Gachagua Meme
On Monday, March 10, Snoop posted a viral meme featuring former Kenyan Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The clip, taken from a press conference just days before his impeachment, shows Gachagua flipping through a stack of papers, seemingly searching for a strong defense.
Snoop, known for posting funny and viral content, captioned the post: “U already know.” The meme itself read: “Looking for the part of the story that says I’m the one to play with.”
Kenyans React to Snoop’s Post
Within minutes, thousands of Kenyans flooded the comment section, celebrating the recognition from the global superstar.
- Carol Radull: “My fellow Kenyans! We made it again!”
- Willis Raburu: “Riggy G with the Snoop. We made it.”
- Geoffrey Mboya: “Gachagua is more popular than Ruto at this rate!”
- Yvonne Odhiambo: “Kenya Hoyeeee! Riggy G ametufikisha hapa!”
This isnโt the first time Snoop has interacted with Kenyan memes. In 2019, he shared a clip of controversial preacher Pastor James Ngโangโa appearing to slap worshippers during prayers. The video, captioned “When u late on the offering money,” quickly went viral before Snoop later deleted it.
Pastor Ngโangโa, in response, struggled to pronounce the rapper’s name but fired back humorously: “Sniff dogโฆsimunif dogโฆWewe sniff dog, imba nyimbo zako za kimataifa achana na Ngโangโa!”
Kenyan Memes Gain Global Recognition
Kenyaโs influence in the meme world continues to rise. Just recently, the hosts of the popular podcast Shxts & Gigs reacted to a viral clip of King Kalala, a media personality known for her bold statements.
In the viral clip, Kalala says: “I’m in love with somebody’s boyfriend and I’m working on stealing him!” The hosts, James Duncan and Fuhad, burst into laughter, making her statement a global talking point.
Another Kenyan meme that gained worldwide attention was comedian Arap Marindichโs Safari Rally skit in 2022. The hilarious video showed Marindich, covered in dust, impersonating a rally driver struggling through tough terrain. His facial expression became a global meme, earning him international recognition.
โAnguka Nayoโ Challenge Hits Hollywood
The viral โAnguka Nayoโ dance challenge, made famous during Kenyaโs Gen Z protests, also reached Hollywood. US-based Kenyan model Rachel Mbuki introduced the dance to top American celebrities at the NBC Summer Press Tour.
Hollywood stars, including Reba McEntire, Kelli Williams, Bellisa Escobedo, and Shanola Hampton, took part in the challenge, attempting to pronounce “Anguka Nayo” while dancing.
Actress Wendi McLendon even gave Kenya a shoutout: “Kenya, my heart is with you. Your generation is gonna save us from ourselves! Anguka Nayo!”
Kenyan Memes Are Here to Stay
From Snoop Dogg to Hollywood, Kenyan memes are making a lasting impact worldwide. As Kenya continues to dominate global conversations online, itโs clear that the countryโs humor, creativity, and cultural influence are stronger than ever.
