Keeping to my lane- Karua Says on Missing Azimio Principals Meeting
A recent meeting of Azimio la Umoja coalition leaders sparked speculation due to the notable absence of Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua.
DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa was also missing from the meeting.
Attendees included Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Kanu’s Gideon Moi, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, and Party of National Unity (PNU) leader Peter Munya.
Siaya Governor James Orengo was present as well.
Karua’s absence followed her party’s announcement of its intention to withdraw from the Azimio Coalition.
Her no-show led a user on X to question why she was not present.
In response, Karua stated: “Keeping to my lane,” indicating her detachment from the meeting.

Afterward, Raila Odinga mentioned that the meeting was held to advance the national conversation agenda.
Kalonzo Musyoka, however, posted on X reaffirming his stance that they would not engage in the national conversation, stating, “No National Conversation!”
Raila agreed to President William Ruto’s request to include five of his top aides in the cabinet as part of what Ruto called a “broad-based government” aimed at uniting Kenyans.
Under this arrangement, former governors Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya, minority leader Opiyo Wandayi, nominated MP John Mbadi, and ODM’s Beatrice Askul have been given ministerial roles and are awaiting vetting and potential parliamentary approval.
Raila mentioned that he consented to this arrangement to allow Ruto to quickly reconstitute the cabinet and promised to address any remaining issues later.
