KDF Officer Brutally Murders Anglican Priest in Kapsabet After Finding Him in Bed With Wife
An Anglican priest was violently killed in Kapsabet town, Nandi, by a KDF officer who discovered him in bed with his wife.
Rev James Kemei, 43, had visited the woman, a lay reader at St Barnabas church in Kapsabet, for the night, unaware of the husband’s trap.
The military officer arrived at his home that night.
He quietly entered the house at Cheplengu village near Mother Fransca hospital and hid in one of the rooms without his wife and her secret lover noticing. He had been informed that the priest was spending nights at his home.
The officer waited silently for the two to go to bed. He then emerged from hiding, attacked the priest, and immobilized him.
The furious officer then attacked his wife, fracturing his hand, and drove nails into the clergyman’s spine.

Neighbors told the Star that the officer cornered his wife in the bedroom and mutilated her lover by cutting off his genitals while she watched.
An anonymous caller alerted the police of the violence at around 3 am on Thursday, according to Nandi police commander Dickens Njogu.
“It was only this morning when St Barnabas Pro-Cathedral Provost Rev Nillah Bassy came to formally report the unfortunate incident that police officers took action,” the officer said.
Neighbors rushed Rev Kemei to Kapsabet Level 5 hospital in critical condition. He was then referred to Eldoret, where he was declared dead upon arrival at Top Hill Hospital.
The KDF officer fled after the incident, and police reported the matter to his superiors.
The severely injured wife also disappeared, suspected to have sought medical treatment at a private hospital, and has not reported to the police.
“We have very limited details on the incident, and DCI has taken over the investigation,” Njogu said.
Rev Kemei, originally from Simat in Uasin Gishu, had been transferred to Sang’alo parish in Mosop East from Kapsabet.
However, he continued living in Kapsabet with the soldier’s wife while commuting daily to Sang’alo, about 30km away.
Efforts to obtain a comment from ACK Bishop of Kapsabet Paul Korir were unsuccessful.
