Kasmuel McOure: “We’ve Been Electing a Bunch of Clowns,” Announces 2027 Candidacy: “I’ll Be on the Ballot”
Activist Kasmuel McOure, recognized for his participation in protests against the Finance Bill and government policies, has revealed his intentions to enter politics.
What are McOure’s political ambitions?
McOure shared his vision of becoming the politician he aspires to be during an interview with KISS FM, confirming his intention to participate in the 2027 general election.
“I said in 2022 that I would be active in politics in 2027 because we’ve been electing a bunch of clowns. I am not so sure about joining any political party, but I am trying to see how that looks. So yes, I’ll be on the ballot in 2027,” he said.
When asked about his future role, McOure mentioned that he is considering running for a position in either the legislative house or an executive role, potentially in Nairobi or on a national scale.
He explained that his participation in the protests was motivated by a goal to reform the country’s governmental system.

McOure rushes to DCI at night
The activist’s announcement came a few weeks after he had to seek refuge at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday night, July 17.
At approximately 11:04 p.m., McOure shared on his X account (previously known as Twitter) that he was heading to the DCI due to feeling unsafe after allegedly receiving credible threats against his life.
McOure later informed that he and his friends were directed to Muthaiga Police Station since they couldn’t stay overnight at the DCI offices.
He mentioned on X that he and his friends then moved to Central Police Station, where they were permitted to stay for the night.
Before his posts on X, McOure told K24 in an interview that he would keep his friends and loved ones updated on his whereabouts that night because he felt unsafe.
