Kalonzo Insists on No National Conversation
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has insisted that he will not participate in any national discussions concerning the nationโs ongoing crisis.
Kalonzo made this declaration on Wednesday evening, shortly after Opposition leader Raila Odinga held a meeting with the principals of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition.
The Wiper party leader clearly stated on X, โNo national conversation.โ
Kalonzo has previously declared his refusal to engage in the dialogue proposed by President William Ruto, aimed at addressing the current tensions in the country.
He contends that joining the dialogue would be a betrayal of the Kenyan youth, who have demonstrated against the governmentโs proposed discussions through their protests.

On Wednesday, Raila’s meeting is reported to have focused on coalition-related issues.
Attendees of the meeting included Kalonzo, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, Kenya African National Union (KANU) party chairperson Gideon Moi, Party of National Unity (PNU) chairperson Peter Munya, and Siaya Governor James Orengo.
Concerns about a potential split within Azimio have arisen following ODM’s decision to accept Cabinet positions in President William Rutoโs government.
Martha Karuaโs Narc-Kenya has officially shown interest in leaving Azimio.
Ruto has nominated John Mbadi (ODM chair) for the National Treasury, Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi (Energy), and deputy party leaders Wycliffe Oparanya and Hassan Joho for the Cooperatives and MSMEs and Mining and Blue Economy portfolios, respectively.
Kalonzo has instructed his partyโs MPs to reject the ODM-nominated Cabinet Secretaries during the vetting process.
