Jowie Irungu Releases New Gospel Song ‘Nakuabudu’ Minutes After Guilty Verdict

Joseph Irungu, also known as Jowie, has unveiled a fresh gospel track called “Nakuabudu” (I worship you) shortly after being convicted for the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

On Friday afternoon, a YouTube video was released featuring Jowie expressing gratitude to the Lord and recognizing the profound spiritual influence on his life.

He observed that the divine message brings him solace in times of difficulty, and the Lord provides guidance through his challenges.

The video shows Jowie’s thumbnail photo as he lifts his hands while looking above.

“I will praise you Lord forever. I am forever in your hands, I am returning to you,” sings the murder convict.

“At the cross, I am healed, I will not be afraid for you are with me. Your word comforts me, Lord. I praise you, I worship you. It’s you,” added the lyrics.

Kenyans.co.ke understands that the song was released minutes after the High Court pronounced a guilty verdict against Jowie, who was the main suspect in the 2018 murder of Monica Kimani.

The video has since garnered over 20 comments and over 300 video views 30 minutes after it was posted.

Kenyans online encouraged the convict, noting that he should keep the faith during his troubled times. Others, however, questioned the timeliness of the song and wondered why it was released at a time when he made headlines.

Lady Justice Grace Nzioka deemed that the prosecution had proved beyond reasonable doubt that Jowie committed the crime in September 2018.

“It is the finding of this court that all this evidence taken cumulatively leads to a strong conclusion that the first accused person murdered the deceased,” Justice Nzioka ruled.

“Therefore, it is the finding of this court that the prosecution has proved beyond a reasonable doubt all the ingredients of the offense of murder, the death that occurred, the cause of death, and the person who committed that offense. It was not a case of homicide, It was unlawful. Therefore I find the first accused person guilty as charged herein of the offense of murder,” she added.

On the other hand, former Citizen TV News anchor Jacque Maribe was acquitted of the charges leveled against her.

Further, the judge canceled Jowie’s bond and directed that he be held in police custody until March 8, 2024, for sentencing.
