Journalist Ken Mijungu Offers to Buy Okiya Omtata a Mercedes Benz

Busia Senator Okiya Omtata has been presented with a generous gift by journalist Ken Mijungu, who empathized with the senator following a recent unfortunate road accident.

Omtata, who had encountered a minor collision last week in the Ojolla area on the Kisumu-Busia road, displayed the damaged state of his saloon car, which had been struck by a truck ascending the Ojola steep hill towards Maseno while en route to Busia.

Thankfully, Senator Omtata emerged from the incident unharmed, but the revelation of his modest car surprised many Kenyans.

There was a prevailing perception that he owned a high-end vehicle like a Landcruiser or Range Rover, akin to those driven by his peers.

This sparked discussion and concern among Kenyans who felt that a person of his stature should not be driving a relatively simple car, especially considering the risks associated with the accident.

Journalist Ken Mijungu took to social media to express his support and intentions to rectify the situation.

He conveyed his sympathy to Senator Omtata and voiced his disapproval of the choice of the Nissan Advan, emphasizing that it was unsuitable for someone of Omtata’s status.

“Pole sana my friend senator Okiya Omtata. You cannot however drive a Nissan Advan. You are prohibited by your status.” the journalist scolded Omtata.

Mijungu then shared images of a sleek Black Mercedes Benz, deeming it more fitting for the respected politician.

“With the work you have done for Kenyans hata kama tutachangia tununue SClass we have to. I have spoken to my friends and they have this for you”

In a public declaration, Mijungu announced his collaborative effort with friends to purchase the Mercedes Benz for Senator Omtata.

He highlighted the senator’s significant contributions to the well-being of Kenyans, stating that the vehicle was a token of appreciation for Omtata’s dedication to fighting for the rights of the people in court.

The gesture garnered widespread approval from the public, with many expressing their agreement with Mijungu’s sentiments.

Kenyans commended Omtata for his humility and advocacy efforts, agreeing that he deserved a safer and more prestigious mode of transportation.

The collective support reflected a shared sentiment that Omtata’s commitment to the welfare of the citizens should be reciprocated with a vehicle that aligns with his esteemed status.
