Jimi Wanjigi Claims Police Trailing Him & Jamming Communication at His Muthaiga Residence
Businessman Jimi Wanjigi, who has repeatedly faced police raids at his Muthaiga home, raised concerns on Friday about being watched by law enforcement. He claimed that unmarked cars had been parked outside his residence, indicating possible surveillance.
Wanjigi took to his X account, stating that the individuals in these vehicles were interfering with communication systems within his home.
“Why are there unmarked vehicles outside my Muthaiga home for the past week? This is outright harassment of me and my family. This level of surveillance is beyond measure!” Wanjigi questioned on X.
In the post, he shared several photos of the vehicles, some equipped with antennas, suggesting they could be causing the communication disruptions within his house.
Despite a court order preventing police from entering his property, Wanjigi claims the surveillance has continued for over a week.
The High Court Judge Joe Omido issued the order after Wanjigi’s wife, Irene Nzisa Wanjigi, filed a complaint following an August 8 police raid on their home.

The order, issued on September 11, also warned Acting IG Gilbert Masengeli and his officers against confiscating or damaging any property from Wanjigi’s residence.
In her affidavit, Wanjigi’s wife alleged that police entered their home by force, damaging gates, doors, CCTV cameras, and lighting equipment.
She further claimed that the officers seized property, including communication devices like six phones, iPads, laptops, and other high-value gadgets.
She emphasized that neither she nor her children, or the property in their home, should be implicated in Wanjigi’s activism and should not be treated as such.
A court hearing was set for September 24. The August 8 raid occurred late at night after a tense standoff between police and Wanjigi at his residence.
Although they failed to arrest him, police had accused Wanjigi of financing the Gen-Z protests that had swept the nation for weeks.
This isn’t the first time Wanjigi has faced such raids; similar incidents were reported in both 2017 and 2022.
