Jalang’o Rejects Finance Bill 2024
Lang’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o has rejected the controversial Finance Bill 2024.
Speaking on Thursday, June 20 on the floor of the National Assembly, Jalang’o said despite the bill being amended he has already made a choice to reject it.
He argued that the bill touches on issues that affect common members of the public adding that Lang’ata locals have come out to reject it.

“I reject the Finance Bill 2024. Immediately it touched around everything that touches the common person, M-Pesa, the cars the pads and I looked back and saw the whole generation in Langata out here having their voices so loud even after the amendments I had to make the choice that I have made today,” said Jalang’o.
The Lang’ata MP went on to say he has spoken to President William Rutoa and has informed him of his decision to reject the Finance Bill 2024.
“Most of you know I am a friend to the President and I spoke to him, he knows very well that this is my stand,” Jalang’o added.
The first-term MP is among Azimio politicians who pledged support for President Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza government in 2023.
The proposed Finance Bill has received a backlash from Kenyans across the country especially from Generation Z who took to the streets on Thursday morning to protest against it.
The demonstrations were witnessed in Nairobi CBD, Nyeri, Kisumu, Nakuru, Isiolo, Garissa, Nanyuki, Kirinyaga, Kisii, and Kakamega.
