    I Have Forgiven Those Who Invaded My Home, They Should be Released – MP Kuria Kimani

    Molo Member of Parliament (MP) has said that he has pardoned all those who invaded and looted his home during the height of the anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests.

    The legislator took to X on Saturday saying that those apprehended from the invasion should be set free and all charges made against them be dropped.

    “I ask @DCI_Kenya and the police to withdraw charges against all the youth that were arrested and charged. Let them be released so that they can get back to work,” he wrote.

    He however warned that grave repercussions will be felt in the occurence of a second invasion, noting that all suspects will be held to book.

    “But let us also agree on one thing, doing it once is not a mistake but repeating it is a mistake. Let us never repeat that despite how angry we will be,” he said.

    MP Kimani, who is the National Assembly Finance and Planning Chairperson, was under fire at the height of the protests as he was blamed for being part of the team that voted in favor of the unsavory and now-withdrawn Finance Bill 2024.

    His Molo residence is said to have been invaded by vexed protesters who made away with valuable goods and later set his house on fire.

    Other leaders whose properties were invaded include Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi whose nightclub, Timba XO, was invaded and protesters took spirits and property of unknown value.

    In Nyeri, protesters looted and set fire to the Chieni supermarket. According to reports, the business belongs to Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina.
