I Am Coming For You- Wanjigi Tells President Ruto Over Illegal Abductions
On Tuesday, September 3, Safina Party Leader Jimi Wanjigi launched a strong critique against President William Ruto regarding the reported illegal abductions that surged during the anti-government protests in the country.
Speaking to the media in Nairobi, alongside his lawyer Willis Otieno and other key figures, Wanjigi urged Kenyans to rise and demand justice and accountability for the ongoing abductions.
“I’m raising an alarm; we’re teetering on the brink and heading in the wrong direction. We must all awaken and insist on truth, accountability, and justice,” Wanjigi stressed.
The Safina leader contended that the current government, led by President William Ruto, was directly responsible for the abductions and killings occurring in the nation.
“To clarify, the president is directly accountable for the abductions, enforced disappearances, and the murder of young people in this country,” he claimed.

Wanjigi suggested that these alleged abductions and extrajudicial killings were part of a government strategy to instill fear among the populace.
He reminded the Inspector General of Police that the Constitution mandates him to act independently and uphold human rights.
Regarding the president’s assurances to address the issue of abductions and disappearances, Wanjigi criticized the president, stating that his promises were insincere and mocked the victims’ families.
“President Ruto is hypocritically mocking and belittling the abducted individuals whose families are grieving daily,” he asserted.
Wanjigi urged the president to adhere to his oath to serve the country with justice and according to the law, lamenting that Ruto had failed to uphold both the Constitution and his oath of office.
The ongoing conflict between Wanjigi and the current administration, particularly concerning fiscal policies, culminated in a police raid on his residence on August 8, 2024.
