“I am Broken” Rita Tinina’s Partner Robert Nagila’s Heartfelt Tribute
Robert Nagila, the partner of the late journalist Rita Tinina, delivered an emotional tribute to his beloved during a memorial service at the Holy Family Basilica.
“The most commonly asked question over the last few days is how I am. I will say today that I am heartbroken. However, broken things can be mended whereas the loss of a loved one is absolute,” Nagila began his tribute.
Describing Rita as a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many, Nagila reflected on the beauty, laughter, and warmth that characterized their relationship.
“When our paths first crossed, your beauty, hearty laughter, and warm heart touched me. You were also the most stubborn person I have ever met, principled in your beliefs,” he shared.
Addressing Rita directly, Nagila lamented the void her absence had left behind.
“Nina, last Sunday, your phone stopped ringing. Your passing has left a void that cannot be filled. But I am comforted by the fact that the memories of time spent will live on,” he said with emotion.

Acknowledging Rita’s role as a loving mother to their eight-year-old daughter, Nagila expressed the depth of her love for their child.
“You were her best friend, her confidant in many respects, and every single thing she did was centered around you and your future. Know this, you are loved so much, and there is nothing we would not do for you,” he said.
Concluding his tribute with a heartfelt farewell, Nagila bid farewell to Rita with the words, “I shall miss you dearly, Mama Mia.”
The memorial service was attended by journalists from various media houses, including Linus Kaikai from Citizen TV, Zubeida Kananu from KTN, and Joe Ageyo, Ken Mijungu from NTV.
Dan Mwangi from NTV served as the master of ceremonies for the event.
Tinina will be laid to rest at her home in Olokirikirai, Mau Narok on Wednesday, March 27, a day before what would have been her 46th birthday.
