How Man Accused Of Killing 2 Sons Was Baited Into Arrest Using Food
A teacher from Kiharu, Murang’a County accused of killing his two sons aged 3 and 5 was arrested by police officers in Mombasa on Thursday while on the run.
Reports indicate that the man who fled his home after the heinous act begged for food from a resident in Mombasa County to whom he made his case of having not eaten for 3 days.
The resident recognized him as the man accused of slitting his sons’ throats.
However, the Mombasa Native did not alert the suspect, he bought the man food and water as requested to keep him occupied.
While the teacher was enjoying his meal, the man called the police who rushed to the scene and arrested him.
The suspect was booked at the Kongowea Police Station awaiting to be transferred to Murang’a.
The man was accused of taking out his anger on the children after an argument with his wife who had left their matrimonial home.
On a fateful day, the suspect talked to his wife for almost 10 minutes using his mother’s phone before he hung up.
He then proceeded to the parent’s house and took his children with him into one of the rooms and ended their lives using a blunt knife.
Relatives and neighbors only learned the unfortunate news after the children failed to show up for several hours.
The father could also not be found at the same time which was strange to them.
“When she (suspect’s mother) opened the door she saw the bodies lying there and went out to call other relatives,” a neighbor stated.
