High Court Orders Truce Signing by Matiang’i, DCI & DPP
Tuesday, April 25th, the High Court ordered former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to submit an agreement for the withdrawal of charges relating to an alleged raid at his Karen home.
Matiang’i’s attorney, Danstan Omari, confirmed to GossipA2Z that the former CS will immediately comply with the court order.
“We will sign an adoption of the directives,” declared Omar.
Wednesday, March 13th, DPP Noordin Haji filed a motion to withdraw the case, citing insufficient evidence.
In addition, he instructed the DCI to present tangible evidence against Matiang’i and his attorney, Omari.
“After an independent and exhaustive analysis of the evidence presented and a review of the witness statements, the DPP determined that the evidence was insufficient to sustain the above charges against Matiang’i and Omari.
Haji stated at the time that the provided evidence lacked the elements required by law to prove each of the aforementioned crimes.

DCI had sought to prosecute Matiang’i and Omari under section 393 of the Penal Code and section 23 of the Computer and Misuse and Cybercrime Act No. 5 of 2018 for conspiracy to commit a felony and publication of false information, respectively.
This stems from an incident on February 8, in which Omari accused security officers of conducting a witch hunt by raiding his client’s residence.
The police vehemently denied the allegations, and on Tuesday, March 7, Matiang’i was interrogated by the DCI for several hours to determine the truth behind the alleged raid.
At the time, Omari disclosed that the DCI officers refused to prepare an indictment. But did attempt to photograph the former Interior CS.
Even though Matiang’i has been conspicuously absent from opposition rallies. Raila Odinga led a protest along Kiambu Road at the DCI Headquarters, demanding his release.
With the new court ruling and Omari’s agreement to the High Court’s request. Matiang’i will not be arraigned and the case will be officially closed.
