Helicopter Ferrying CS Murkomen Involved in an Accident in Baringo
A helicopter ferrying Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Transport and Roads Kipchumba Murkomen was on Saturday, March 9, involved in an accident.
The accident occurred while the helicopter was attempting to take off before it crashed back to the ground in the Mwanchon area in Baringo County.
Also in the helicopter was the Kenya Airways Authority (KAA) Chairman Caleb Kositany.
Reports received by the time of publishing this article confirmed that no one was injured.
In the images circulating online, the helicopter can be seen slanted but in intact condition. There is no visible damage to the plane.
Police officers have responded to the accident site to ascertain details of what led to the minor accident.

According to witnesses on the ground near the scene of the accident, the plane crashed just after taking off the ground, however, confirmed that the crash was more of a soft landing.
On March 5, two people were pronounced dead after two helicopters crashed within Nairobi Airspace, crashing at the Nairobi National Park.
“Kenya Civil Aviation Authority wishes to confirm that an aircraft accident occurred at 10:05hrs involving a Cessna aircraft belonging to Ninety-Nines Flying School and a Dash 8 belonging to Safarilink Aviation Limited,” the Authority stated.
According to a report by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Department of the Ministry of Roads and Transport, one of the planes belonging to the ninety-nine flying school had been involved in two other accidents before the Tuesday crash.
“The aircraft had two crew on board; an instructor and a student. Investigations to determine the cause of the accident are being carried out by the relevant authorities. We condole with the families, friends, and relatives of the deceased,” the Ninety-Nine Flying School consoled with the family of the deceased.
