The Deputy President stated that these funds would cover arrears owed for November 2024.
“The National Treasury prioritizes the disbursement of arrears related to the Equalization Fund,” he remarked.
“The council acknowledges the swift action by the National Treasury in disbursing funds to county governments, with an additional Ksh.32 billion is set to be released by December 19, 2024, covering the arrears for November 2024.

The meeting also led to the decision for DP Kindiki to hold a high-level meeting with both levels of government to address several issues raised.
These include the Integrated County Revenue Management System (ICRMS) for improved revenue collection and a strategy to manage donor funds and ensure their proper allocation to counties.
Furthermore, the Deputy President is expected to advocate for the County Government’s Additional Allocations Bill currently under consideration in Parliament.
“Driven by a spirit of collaboration and the need to streamline service delivery, the IBEC Chairperson has urged all devolution stakeholders to work together, avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy to ensure efficient services for citizens,” a statement to the press read.
IEBC members regularly meet with policymakers to discuss key factors influencing business conditions and driving economic growth.
