Governors Sakaja and Kihika Face Arrest for Ignoring Summons
The governor of Nairobi, Johnson Sakaja, and his counterpart in Nakuru, Susan Kihika, face arrest after ignoring summonses from a Senate oversight committee to respond to audit inquiries regarding the use of public funds in their respective counties.
The County Public Investments and Special Funds Committee has stated that they will seek arrest warrants for the two if they fail to respond to the summonses.
The failure of Governor Sakaja to appear before the committee led by Senator Godfrey Osotsi of Vihiga on May 15 to respond to audit questions regarding the use of funds by the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company. He reported being out of the country.

“We order that the governors be summoned to appear before this committee on a date to be communicated by the Clerk; if they fail to do so, we will seek an arrest warrant.”
