Vice President Rigathi Gachagua has now opened fire on Opposition leader Raila Odinga for Wednesday’s nationwide protests, which resulted in the deaths of at least nine individuals.

Thursday in Laikipia, Gachagua criticized the leader of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, accusing him of orchestrating “baseless” and deadly demonstrations that have done more damage than good.

The DP rebutted Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s statements on Thursday, in which he asserted that the Opposition would lead three days of protests the following week and that their only goal was to see carnage in the nation.

“They murdered six persons on Monday, jana watu saba…sasa nimeona wamesema itakua Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Wanataka kuua watu wangapi kila siku ndio watosheke? Hii damu ya wakenya wanataka ni ya nini?” Gachagua struck a posture.

The DP referenced all of Odinga’s failed presidential election bids as he criticized him, alleging that his only recourse after losing elections has been to sow chaos in the country.

According to Gachagua, the Azimio chief is too old to continue his political struggle and should instead contemplate hanging up his boots.

“How much blood must you, Raila Odinga, shed to be content? Five times, the people of Kenya rejected you…What do you continue to strive for at the age of 80? Ni nini unafanya?” The DP posed the question.

DP Gachagua further criticized the former prime minister, accusing him of being the political problem of the nation.

“Unapanga kila siku watu wauwawe, mali ya watu iharibiwe na wewe hakuna kazi unafanya, watu wako hakuna kazi wanafanya,” he stated.

“I told President Uhuru Kenyatta that huyu mtu unatuletea is the problem of this country, and that tukimalizana na huyu mtu will solve those problems,” Gachagua added.

In an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday, Sifuna stated that the coalition would conduct demonstrations from Monday to Wednesday until the government is forced to reduce the cost of living.
