Furious Man Plunges Into Flooded River After Bar Mockery

The Bomet County Government disaster management team is actively searching for a man who is believed to have jumped into a swollen river following a disagreement at a drinking establishment in the Kipsuter area.

The incident stems from the man’s apparent upset after being taunted by his drinking companions about his lack of fighting ability

This ridicule appears to have pushed him towards a possible suicide attempt.

Paul Sang, the man’s uncle, recounted that a jacket and shirt, which they suspect belonged to his nephew, were discovered at the Chepkulo River, suggesting the man had headed towards the river after the argument.

Reports indicate that the victim became increasingly agitated when one of his drinking companions threatened him, challenging him to a fight to settle who should receive more alcohol.

Despite attempts by another friend to diffuse the situation and calm him down, the victim was determined to leave the establishment.

His last known movements saw him walking towards the river, which was located about a kilometer away from the drinking joint.

Local authorities, including Area Chief Joseah Ng’eno, have launched an investigation to uncover the details surrounding the incident.

Meanwhile, Stanley Mutai, a county disaster officer, mentioned that an unidentified man’s body was seen being carried away by the strong currents of the flooding river, approximately 25 kilometers from where the incident took place.

The unfolding situation has raised concern and drawn significant attention, as community members and local officials work to piece together the events that led to the man’s disappearance and possible tragic fate in the river.
