Floods Sweep Vehicle With 2 KRA Officials
Two Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officers were reported missing after the vehicle they were traveling in was swept away by floods on Friday.
In a statement sent to PoliticalPulseChat, the Authority explained that the two officers were traveling to Mombasa from Lunga-Lunga, where they were stationed before the incident occurred.
The officers attempted to navigate the vehicle to avoid the raging floods, but their efforts failed when they approached the Ramisi River in Kwale County.
KRA explained that it contacted the family members of the two officers to update them on the incident. The taxman added that a multi-agency team was deployed to trace the two employees.
“KRA will continuously update the family members, its staff, and the public on the progress and outcome of the rescue mission,” read part of the statement.
“The safety and well-being of KRA employees remains the Authority’s priority and all machinery is being deployed for a positive outcome.”

Kenya Met had initially reported that El Nino would begin in October and run until 2024. The report was contradicted by President William Ruto, who argued that after consultations with experts, the country would only experience above-average rainfall across various parts of the country.
Months later, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accompanied by Kenya Met Director David Gikungu, apologized for miscommunication on El Nino, advising Kenyans to brace themselves for heavy rains.
