Fatuma Hadi, the former head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kilimani, is the new commander of the Kilifi County Police.

Abdallah Komesha, head of the Investigations Bureau at the DCI’s headquarters, is leading the team investigating the scandal.
Before her deployment to Kilifi, Hadi was the assistant director of personnel at the DCI headquarters.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki visited the scene on Friday. And announced the redeployment of all Kilifi County police commanders to conduct a thorough investigation into the cult activities.
He stated that the commanders came from all levels and services, including the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the National Police Service (NPS), and the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro stated that some police officers who have overstayed in Kilifi and may have participated in cult activities should also be transferred.

President William Ruto stated that all county commissioners and officers have been transferred due to “sleeping on the job.”
“We transferred all those who slept on the job, the commissioners, policemen, and CID officers who were present during the deaths of numerous Kenyans,” he said.
“We have instructed them to leave so that we can determine what transpired.”
Ruto announced on Sunday that he will establish a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate the Shakahola massacre.
This follows the discovery of more than 109 bodies in shallow graves outside the forest.
The victims were members of the Paul Mackenzie Nthenge-founded Good News International Church.
Allegedly, they were buried after starving to death “to find Jesus.”Ruto stated on Sunday that the commission will be expected to examine the case thoroughly. And hold accountable anyone found to be responsible.

“We want to provide a framework agreed upon with our religious leaders. That allows for self-regulation, so that our church, religious, and spiritual leaders have a way to alert the government. To those who abuse religion for other purposes.”
Pastor Ezekiel Odero has been linked to the deaths and will spend the weekend in custody pending a decision on his bail status on Tuesday, May 2.
There are believed to be dozens of additional bodies buried in shallow graves within the area.
About 36 individuals have been saved from starvation.
Mackenzie, who is currently in police custody. Is under investigation for allegedly influencing his followers to starve to death to meet their creator.
