Father of Kenyan Police Who Died in US Discloses Last Conversation

Walter Nyamato’s father has revealed information about their final discussion before the Kenyan police officer was discovered deceased at a hotel in the United States last Wednesday.

The father mentioned that around the middle of last week, he got a call from his son informing him about the upcoming journey to Washington DC.

Impressed by his son’s journey, the father expressed a desire to travel to Nairobi to see him off. Regrettably, Nyamato declined the invitation, explaining that he was in a rush and required ample time to get ready for the trip.

“He told us he would not come back home soon because the date of the trip to the US was fast approaching,” the father narrated.ย

On the evening of February 9th, Nyamato received a phone call from his mother, who inquired about his well-being. According to his father, at that time, Nyamato was at the airport, getting ready for his journey.

โ€œWe asked to pray for him and he also told us he was going along with his colleagues. So immediately after the call, we slept and on Saturday, we did not call because we knew he was still on the flight,โ€ the father noted.

This week, the father reportedly got a phone call from a family member who notified him about his son’s passing.

The family member stated that he heard about Nyamato’s death from a close friend of the deceased.

Nyamato’s dad contacted his son’s good friend, who happens to be a police officer, to verify the information, and he confirmed its accuracy.

“The relative told me, “Since you are a man let me tell you, Walter is no more,” and so I was curious to know who told him,” narrated Walter’s dad.

In the meantime, the fellow police officers of the deceased were the initial individuals to find out about his passing when he did not respond to calls and remained unresponsive upon waking.

His loved ones and coworkers grieved the loss of a devoted officer who was dedicated to his profession.

The reason for his demise is still unknown, and his family is optimistic that the police will expedite inquiries to determine the cause of death.
