Fatal Timboroa Accident Kills Five
On Thursday, a Mitsubishi bus collided with three other vehicles in the Mlango Tatu region along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway, resulting in the confirmation of five fatalities.
A statement from the police revealed that a devastating event took place at approximately 1:40 am, resulting in the immediate loss of three lives.
“NPS Officers from Timboroa Police Station are responding to a tragic road traffic accident that claimed 3 lives on 04/01/2024 at about 0140 hours at Mlango Tatu area along Nakuru-Eldoret Road,” read part of the police statement.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident involved a Mitsubishi bus and 3 other vehicles including a Toyota Probox.”
As per the authorities, the injured individuals were quickly taken to Eldama Ravine Sub-County Hospital for medical care. Regrettably, two additional passengers passed away due to their injuries after being admitted.
In the meantime, the deceased individuals’ remains were transported to the mortuary at the Hospital for further examination through autopsy.

“Efforts are underway to clear the road obstruction,” the police noted.
The unfortunate event happened just three days after a comparable incident took place on the identical highway, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals.
On the last day of December, a fast-moving trailer collided with a 14-passenger minibus that had been halted by traffic authorities at the Eveready Roundabout in Nakuru.
Wounded individuals were quickly transported to Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital, while the deceased were taken to a morgue close by.
A similar accident took place on the exact highway on December 18, involving a collision between a 60-passenger bus and a 14-passenger matatu traveling from Eldoret to Nakuru. This resulted in four fatalities at the scene.
The crash, which resulted in heavy traffic on the bustling highway, caused severe injuries to nine passengers besides the fatalities. All those who passed away and the injured individuals were transported to the Eldama Ravine Sub-County Referral Hospital and morgue.
