Family of Killed Cop Breaks Silence After DJ Joe Mfalme’s Release
On Monday, April 8, the family of Felix Ole Kintosi, who passed away, finally spoke out following the release of six suspects involved in his murder case.
During their press statement, the family voiced concerns that justice might not be attained after the recent turn of events, wherein DJ Joe Mfalme, previously considered a suspect in the case, has now become a State witness.
“We have seen that we are not likely to get justice because when the case is beginning and we hear six of the suspects have been freed,” the family member stated.
“The person they are saying is the key suspect works for one of the people who have been freed. The police officers were witnessing as the officer was being beaten up and therefore to us this is not the way to go,” the relative added.
Kintosi, a former law enforcement officer, was assaulted on March 16 and passed away due to the injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nairobi.
Allegedly, the individuals assaulted the police officer in Kikuyu following a minor traffic altercation.
The performer and his team were previously alleged to have sparked the confrontation before being joined by officers from the Kikuyu Police Station.

As per a family member’s account, Kintosi did not pass away immediately following the incident.
The family members disclosed that the individual who passed away was apprehended and transported to the police precinct, but was subsequently released the next day and returned home.
“It is important for people to know that we spoke to our kin before he died. He did not die immediately on the scene where he was beaten up,” the relative revealed.
According to accounts from his relatives, while he was at home, Kintosi informed his family that he had been assaulted by multiple individuals before he began experiencing abdominal discomfort.
He was promptly taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. The DJ and his accomplices were apprehended on March 23. Following their release by the Kibera Law Courts, they will now aid police in their inquiries.
Kintosi was buried on Friday.
The family has called upon the courts and other relevant authorities to ensure anyone responsible for their kin’s death is held accountable.
