EACC boss to ex-CSs, PSs: Probe won’t stop after leaving office
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) chairperson Bishop David Oginde has warned senior government officials who use the powerful offices they hold to stop investigations into their conduct.
Speaking on Wednesday, Oginde said that power eventually comes to an end and the cases will follow them to the grave.
He insisted that currently, the EACC is handling at least 43 cases involving former powerful office holders in the last three months.
“The majority of those cases involve former PSs, former CSs, and former CEOs of parastatals. These people have no power that they used to stop us from investigations.
“They are powerless and I want to tell the current CSs and PSs, that a day is coming when the power that you are wielding now will no longer be there and we will come for you like a lame duck. And you’ll be crying ooh I’m old and whatever,” Oginde said on Citizen TV.
The EACC boss insisted that one should live by their genuine earnings.
He added that evil money does not pay.

“You better enjoy the little you get legitimately than commit yourself to evil money. It does not pay.”
Oginde appealed to Kenyans to stop engaging in corruption, and instead focus on doing legitimate work.
He noted that Kenya is a rich country and everyone can earn based on their skills and strengths because the country has enough resources.
“I want to appeal to Kenyans, let’s leave and stop corruption. Let’s do legitimate work, this country is very rich and we have enough resources to feed all of us. There is no need for you to take shortcuts to go and steal from others, steal from the government, or manipulate things,” the Bishop said.
He also commended the Head of Public Service Felix Koskei for being vocal about fighting corruption.
He urged Kenyans to heed such voices.
