DP Gachagua’s Cryptic Message After Limuru III Conference

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua conveyed a cryptic message on Tuesday, May 21 following the Limuru III conference held by a group of Mt Kenya leaders last week.

Addressing the crowd in Kagio Township, Kirinyaga County, Gachagua acknowledged his awareness of the developments in the Mt Kenya region but opted to remain silent on the matter.

Nevertheless, he cautioned Mt Kenya residents about the potential dangers of silence, comparing it to a quietly flowing river, which can be more perilous.

DP Gachagua encouraged leaders from Mt Kenya to join forces and foster unity, emphasizing that the region’s power stems from its collective cohesion.

“Our strength lies in the unity of the Mt. Kenya region. I implore our leaders to come together and consolidate our unity. While I observe the events unfolding, I’ve opted for silence. However, it’s crucial to note that where the river remains silent, it poses a greater danger,” expressed Gachagua.

On Friday, May 17, Martha Karua, the leader of the Narc Kenya party, and Jeremiah Kioni, the secretary-general of the Jubilee party, alongside other Mt. Kenya leaders convened at the Limuru III summit.

During the summit, these leaders introduced the Hakiย Coalition,ย to advocate for the “one man, one vote, one shilling” revenue-sharing formula.

They reached a consensus to rally behind the Haki Coalition in safeguarding the interests of Mt. Kenya and urged individuals who share similar ideals to align with the movement.

Leaders have declared that ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta will continue as the prominent figure in the Mt Kenya region.

“The residents of our region have decided to come together under a single umbrella movement to protect our interests and to present a unified voice as a community. Consequently, we are joining forces to oppose anyย form ofย oppression and extend an invitation to others who share our ideals to join us,” stated former Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi.
