DJ Fatxo Cooperates with Authorities in Mwathi Death Probe – Lawyer

As the investigation into the death of interior decorator Geoffrey Mwathi continues, Fatxo’s attorney, Charles Mugane, states that his client is available and willing to cooperate with authorities.

Mugane claims that ‘DJ Fatxo,’ whose real name is Lawrence Njuguna, has met with the investigating officer every time he has been summoned since the February 22 incident.

“My client is cooperating with the ongoing investigations, and he has been available every time he has been summoned since Geoffrey’s death,” Charles Mugane told Inooro TV.

In addition to expressing condolences to Mwathi’s family, the attorney stated that the situation was “difficult for both his client and his friends.”

“We extend our condolences to Jeff’s family. This is a difficult situation for my client and his friends, but in the end, the truth will be revealed,” he added.

Mwathi, an interior decorator who met the DJ through a referral, was found dead in front of the DJ’s Redwood apartments on Thika Road.

Mwathi jumped to his death from the 10th floor of the DJ’s apartment following a night out, according to statements recorded at the Kasarani police station by the DJ, his cousin, and his driver.

Mwathi, DJ Fatxo, and three unidentified women can be seen returning to DJ Fatxo’s apartment around 3 a.m., as captured on surveillance footage from the Redwood apartments.

According to the police report, another man, a DJ relative, arrived at the apartment in a separate vehicle.

The DJ was observed leaving his apartment with three women at approximately 4:00 a.m., while Mwathi remained inside with two other men.

CCTV footage shows two men scanning the parking lot of an apartment complex. It is unclear what transpired.

Before returning to the apartment, the cousin of the deejay is seen making several phone calls.

CCTV footage captured Mwathi falling from the apartment seven minutes later, perplexing police and neighbors.

According to his uncle, Muchoki Mwathi, the deceased interior decorator’s pants were pulled down to his knees when he was discovered dead.

Because it had been 72 hours since the incident, pathologists at the City Mortuary, where an autopsy was conducted, were unable to determine whether Mwathi had been sexually assaulted.

According to statements filed by the disc jokey and the two men present at Mwathi’s residence at the time of the incident, the deceased Mwathi committed suicide by jumping.

They claim to have discovered Mwathi’s death around 9 a.m. when the DJ returned home and reported the situation outside the apartment.

In the meantime, Mwathi’s family has rejected the suicide theory, claiming that the interior decorator never considered suicide.

Investigations are ongoing into the matter.
