Dennis Itumbi’s ‘Kasongo Delivers’ Post Sparks Laughter Among Kenyans: “Kwa Ivo Mlikubali Jina”

Dennis Itumbi, the Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects at the Office of the President left Kenyans stunned by seemingly addressing President William Ruto as “Kasongo.”

The term “Kasongo,” which is often used by Kenyans online to criticize the Kenya Kwanza government, caught many by surprise when Ruto’s aide applied it to him.

What message did Itumbi convey about Ruto?

Itumbi posted on Instagram with the title “Kasongo Delivers,” emphasizing several accomplishments of Ruto.

The post included a black-and-white silhouette resembling Ruto, along with the hashtag #SystemyaFacts.

The post highlighted the ongoing housing initiatives under the Kenya Kwanza government, mentioning that 1,200 affordable housing units had been finished since September 2024.

The statement highlighted that 124,000 housing units are currently under construction across Kenya, with plans for 840,000 additional units over the next four years, aiming to create one million jobs.

Additionally, Itumbi announced Ruto’s intention to boost the number of mortgages from 30,000 to one million to promote homeownership nationwide.
